The Hidalgo County Bar Association has been in existence since 1928, and has been a valuable resource for our legal professionals and community-at-large.

From continuing legal education to member services, we are dedicated to helping our members achieve their goals, and to increasing our community's understanding and appreciation of the legal system.

The Hidalgo County Bar Association (HCBA) has a membership roster in excess of 786 and proudly serves lawyers in 13 surrounding counties.

It is the Mission of the HCBA to:

Promote and encourage the highest level of honesty, competence, ethics and professionalism among members of the bar.

Educate and inform the public in order to increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the legal system.

Serve the community through the support of free legal service projects, educational programs, charitable activities and other public service events.

Promote the fair and efficient administration of justice.

Cultivate fellowship and promote voluntarism among the members of the bar.

Encourage the free exchange of information and ideas about the law and the legal profession among the members.

This is accomplished through our many HCBA and Hidalgo County Bar Foundation programs and services.
